Working with Gender, Sexuality, and Relationship Diversity in Therapy
This 2-3 hour training supports trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists to develop a better understanding of socio-cultural and political impacts for GSRD clients.
This includes:
Introducing, defining and exploring Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity (GSRD)
Applying an intersectional lens and Social Graces model
Making sense of key terms, including pronouns.
Unpacking harmful psychoanalytic roots and positioning current harm in therapy
Psycho/pathologization of queer and trans people across healthcare
Systemic violence, ‘conversion’ therapy and transphobia
Adult and youth mental health
Protective factors and good practice.
